MUSIC - MARLOW FM 97.5
Marlow FM 97.5 will be providing musical entertainment and broadcasting from the Town Regatta throughout the day. A number of acts will perform on their stage adjacent to the main entrance.
11.15am - Imogen Mansfield
Ex Borlase pupil studying at Nottingham University Imogen is an acoustic artiste
who sings and plays guitar. This is Imogen’s Debut at the Regatta.
12.15pm - Borlase Gospel Choir
The Gospel Choir of Sir William Borlase's Grammar School is a student-led and
auditioned choir for girls between Year 10-13. They perform regularly at school
events and fundraisers as well as in concerts and competitions in the wider
community.
Every summer, two sixth formers are elected to run the choir for a year; the
conductors for 2012-13 are Amee Thwaites and Caroline Hopper. They hope to
continue the high standard of singing and maintain the choir's excellent
reputation!
2.00pm - Richard Lee
Born in Windsor and force fed Cliff Richard and Dire Straits on ridiculously
long car journey’s with his parents and 4 siblings on their yearly holidays in a
clapped out old Citroen it wasn’t until Richards’ early teens that he picked up
the guitar for the first time with the intention of impressing girls. The
impressing girls never quite happened and the longer he spent on the guitar the
more his fingers hurt but the better the songs got. Failed piano lessons behind
him, and a career in his church’s junior choir cut short by his voice breaking,
Richard had found his place behind an acoustic guitar.
4.00pm – Troyden Bent
Rodney Bent (aka Troydon bent) started making music back in 2009. Already a
talented and accomplished dancer, well known within the Jamaican dance
fraternity, his reggae heroes Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, Gyptian, Jah Cure,
Tarrus Riley, Mavado and Vybz Kartel inspired him to also want to express
himself through song.
Troydon lives close to his family. Relatives and friends come first in his
life’s journey which motivates him to always want to help people. Troydon’s
dream is to foster love and eradicate hate through sharing and caring.
