MARLOW TOWN REGATTA

Saturday 8th June 2013

The Marlow Town Regatta is a traditional rowing regatta best viewed from the "Regatta Enclosure" on the banks of the Thames in Higginson Park. The Regatta Enclosure provides direct access to the river and rowing.  It also houses the Riverside Bar  the picnic area, trade stalls, charity stalls, and musical entertainment. For a diagram showing the layout of the enclosure please (click here......).

Entry to the Regatta Enclosure is by ticket available online at the price of £7 per adult (18 and over) and £4 per child (aged 5 to 17). There is no charge for infants under 5. On the day entry tickets will be £12 for adults and £6 for children so it's worth booking in advance.

Visitors are requested to use the Town Regatta as an opportunity to dress up. Gentlemen should be smartly dressed in trousers with a collared shirt and blazer or jacket. Ladies are asked to dress smartly in a dress or skirt/trousers and top. Please note that jeans and shorts are not allowed.

The Riverside Bar

The Riverside Bar and a number of satellite Pimm's bars are run by Marlow Round Table with all proceeds going to charity. They will be serving champagne, Pimm's, wines and beers. Tables and chairs are provided in front of the Riverside Bar but are not available elsewhere within the Regatta Enclosure.

If you wish to Picnic

Following last year's change of format, picnickers have direct access to the river and are able to watch the rowing, visit the Riverside Bar and stroll amongst the stalls. There are 2 types of picnic pitch available.  Some pitches are designated as picnic only and some are for either picnics or cars.  For those that know Higginson Park, cars are not allowed onto the area on the river side of the metal railing fence.  The Enclosure Plan shows this clearly.

Those who choose a picnic pitch where no cars are allowed are asked to park their cars in the car park which covers the Cricket Pitch and the area adjacent to the Skatepark.  A drop off area close to the Regatta Enclosure entrance is available.

Picnic pitches are priced at £35 or £45 each, depending on location, with a small number of premier riverside pitches within the Jim Campbell Enclosure priced at £110 each. Please note that gazebos, tables and, where appropriate cars, are only allowed within the boundary of the designated picnic pitch. It will not be possible for you to spread, so if you think you might need more space, please purchase more pitches.
