FAMILY DAY – FREE ENTERTAINMENT
Sunday 17th June – Free Entry.
Sunday will be filled with family friendly entertainment. There is no charge for entry so come down with the family and enjoy the afternoon. Entertainment throughout the day includes the Marlow Schools choirs, Kobika dance groups, a dog show, a cake competition, duck show, Ferret racing, Katy Kartwheel circus, visit the trade, food, and craft stalls and enjoy the afternoon’s arena and stage events.
From 9.00am – 4.00pm MARLOW DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
The amazing Marlow Dragon Boat Festival takes place on the Thames with races starting around 9.30am and running throughout the day. This is one of the UK’s largest Dragon Boat Festivals and always lots of fun to watch. The finals are expected to take place at about 4.00pm.
From 10.30am CHURCHES TOGETHER SUNDAY SERVICE
A joint service will be held in Higginson Park on Sunday morning from 10.30am to 12.00pm.
10.30am – 5.00pm ROUND TABLE BAR & BBQ
Marlow Round Table will be managing both the Riverside Bar and providing their famous BBQ with all proceeds going to local charities and good causes.
12.00pm – 5.00pm BASIL & CREW MOBILE FARM
After they were so popular last year we were determined to make sure we brought back Basil a
nd Crew. They offer a relaxed meet and greet with various furry and feathered animals that make up “Basil and Crew”. Feeding and grooming of the animals will all be part of the day, with the possibility of closer encounters with some of the smaller animals at certain times
TRADE, CRAFT AND FOOD STALLS
The park will be filled with trade, craft and food stalls so come down to browse, buy that special something and enjoy the street food, sweet and coffee stalls.
BOUNCY CASTLE & SLIDE
A huge bouncy castle and slide will be there throughout the weekend. Don’t forget of course that this is also the weekend that the Traylen’s Funfair comes to town.
FUN DOG SHOW
This year’s dog show is supported with prizes from both Barkers and Apollo Photography. Dogs will be judged in the following categories:
- Waggiest tail
- Best dressed dog
- Best young handler
- Judges pick
Discover your inner Mary Berry and enter our fun amateur cake baking contest on Sunday 11th June in
igginson Park, Marlow. Entry is free and is for amateurs only. So, pop on your apron, grab the icing sugar and get baking some delightfully tasty treats. Class 1: Best tasting cake
Class 2: Best decorated cake
Class 3: Most original cupcake design
Child: 5-10 years
Youth: 11-15 years
Class 4: Tallest cake
Any non-fruit cake e.g. victoria sponge, carrot or chocolate cake
Cupcake contest for youths and children only
Must be made by the person entering the contest
Must be totally edible
No packet mix or pre-made icing allowed
An exhibitor can enter as many entries as they wish
Entries to arrive at the Regatta Entrance Tent by 1.00pm
Judging to take place between 2.00pm and 3.00pm
Cakes may be collected between 4.30pm and 5.00pm
Judges decision is final
Circus Passion will be performing a vibrant mix of jaw-dropping aerial skills, fire breathing, chinese pole, ensemble acrobatics and hula hooping. Shows will take place throughout the afternoon within Circus Passion’s theme for 2018: The Royal Wedding.
After each hourly show there will be a variety of workshops open to children and adults to learn amazing circus skills including chinese pole and aerial hoop. Our performers will also meet and greet visitors to the Marlow Regatta via stilt-walking and circus walkabouts within the main crowd.
Family Craft Workshop ‘ DOWN BY THE WATER’ -Drop-in
New for 2018 we are excited to work with Family Craft Workshop. Come and create a boat, fish, bird or butterfly to take home. Use lots of exciting materials and make something marvellous!
The ARK – Mobile performance around the enclosure
Also new for 2018 we have partnered with The Ark – It’s a trike mounted, mini Noah’s Ark, featuring animated
films, lever operated animals such as Mr Giraffe, The fierce Lion,The Snappy Crocodile,The Naughty Doggie and The Hamster…. on his wheel of joy.
It’s great fun and children love it.
